Sharia Financial Management Students Secure Internship Opportunity at ITPC Shanghai, China

Fitria Dwi Rahmawati, a 2021 student from the Sharia Financial Management Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga, along with other FEBI students participating in an exchange program at Wuxi Institute of Technology, China, recently secured a valuable internship opportunity at the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in Shanghai, China. This internship provides a solid foundation for understanding global trade dynamics, particularly in the context of trade relations between Indonesia and China.
As an institution under the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, ITPC Shanghai plays a crucial role in promoting Indonesia's flagship products and facilitating trade between the two countries. The internship not only offers deep insights into international trade mechanisms but also allows students to learn more about bilateral economic cooperation between Indonesia and China.
During the internship, the students engaged in various activities, including the analysis of the Chinese trade market. They were assigned tasks to evaluate specific products with potential for export to the Chinese market, such as coconut products, tea, coffee, and bird's nests. These activities allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the needs and preferences of the Chinese market, as well as the strategies required to enter it. On the final day of the internship, the students had the opportunity to present the results of their analysis in a final project themed around the export opportunities for Indonesian products. This presentation took place in front of the Director of ITPC Shanghai and other senior executives. The presentation not only served as a platform to showcase their work but also provided a valuable opportunity to receive feedback from experienced professionals in international trade.
This internship experience provides students with invaluable new insights and knowledge, enriching their understanding of international trade and enhancing their skills in market analysis. The knowledge and experience gained during this internship are expected to be applied in supporting the development of Indonesia's trade sector, as well as strengthening their position in an increasingly globalized professional world.
