Islamic Financial Management Students Learn Financial Sharia Risk Mitigation from Practitioner

The inaugural hybrid webinar held at the Faculty of Economics and Business on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, was a collaborative effort with the Islamic Financial Management Student Association. The Islamic Financial Management Program successfully brought in a Practitioner in Sharia Banking, Mr. Bani Pamungkas, who serves as the Branch Manager of Bank Syariah Indonesia and has been recognized as the best CBRM achiever at BSI RO VI Jakarta 3. The theme of the webinar was "Exposure Strategies in Sharia Bank Risk Management for National Economic Recovery," guided by Mr. Izra Berakon, M.Sc., the event's moderator and a lecturer in the Islamic Financial Management Program at FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga.

The webinar featured several lecturers from the Islamic Financial Management program, including Dr. H. M. Yazid Afandi, M. Ag, as the Head of the IFM Program, Mrs. Sunarsih, S.E., M. Si as the Deputy Head of the IFM Program, Mrs. Ratna Sofiana, SH., M. Si as the Chairperson, and other faculty members who attended both offline and online through Zoom. The event began with the recitation of the Quran, followed by the opening remarks by the Head of the Program and a presentation providing an overview of Islamic banks in Indonesia, President Ir. H. Joko Widodo's message regarding the smooth running of BSI, an overview of Indonesia's economic conditions, various risks in Islamic banking, and problematic financing in Islamic banks. The speaker also explained and discussed the restructuring of problematic financing, categorizing them based on their quality such as current, under special attention, less liquid, doubtful, and non-performing, including the current banking terms being widely discussed, including Rescheduling, Reconditioning, and Restructuring.

After the approximately 60-minute presentation, the session concluded with a Q&A involving two participants and followed by a post-test to assess the participants' understanding. The participant with the highest score received a special edition BSI E-Money prize. Each participant was entitled to an e-certificate as proof of participation in the event.
