Islamic Finance Program Fosters Community Service: Entrepreneurship Training at Nurul Ummahat Boarding School'

On Tuesday and Wednesday, November 23rd and 24th, 2021, at the Nurul Ummahat Girls' Boarding School in Kotagede, Yogyakarta, the Sharia Financial Management (MKS) Program at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, conducted a community service event as part of the Higher Education Tridharma in the field of Community Service. The community service activity took the form of an Entrepreneurship Training with the theme "Ngaji Entrepreneur" held from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The training had three speakers: Mr. Warsis Mawardi, S.HI, the Director of Mawardi Institute and Mawardi Group; Mr. Rizaldi Yusfiarto, MM; and Mr. Furqonul Haq, MEI, who are lecturers in the Sharia Financial Management program at FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The event was held offline with the assistance of LPNU Kota Yogyakarta, and there were 36 participants, students of the Nurul Ummahat Girls' Boarding School in Kotagede, Yogyakarta.

The opening session on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, was initiated by Dr. M. Yazid Affandi, M.Ag, the Head of the MKS Program, who delivered an opening speech, emphasizing that the entrepreneurship training aligns with the MKS program's goal to make a tangible impact in community service. The first session featured a presentation by Mr. Rizaldi Yusfiarto, MM, covering the topic of "Business Plan" from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, followed by a Q&A session. The second session took place the following evening.

On the second session, Wednesday, November 24, 2021, the MKS Program's Community Service continued with presentations by Mr. Furqonul Haq, MEI, and Mr. Warsis Mawardi, S.HI, a business practitioner. Mr. Furqon covered the topic of "Business Principles" while Mr. Warsis shared insights on "Practical Aspects of Being an Entrepreneurial Student." The sessions concluded with a Q&A session from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Throughout the event, participants showed great enthusiasm, actively engaging in each session by asking questions and seeking entrepreneurial advice from the speakers. It is hoped that the participants' enthusiasm during the event will transform into a passion for becoming Sharia entrepreneurs in the future after graduating from the boarding school.
