Yogyakarta, May 20th, 2025 – The Islamic Financial Management Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, successfully held the Faculty Innovation and Research Enhancement (FIRE) as part of the series of events in The 1st International Student Conference on Islamic Financial Management for Students (ICIFiMS).

The event took place on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, from 09:30 to 11:30 AM (Jakarta Time) at the Meeting Room, 2nd Floor (South Tower – East Wing) of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This academic development program was specifically designed to enhance the research quality of lecturers under the theme: “Crafting Globally Competitive Research on Halal Attributes for Scopus/WoS Journals.”

The session officially began at 10:00 AM, moderated by Mr. Izra Berakon, M.Sc., a lecturer from the Islamic Financial Management Study Program. It was followed by a Welcoming Remark delivered by Dr. Sunaryati, Vice Dean I of FEBI, who expressed her appreciation for the initiative and emphasized the importance of international collaboration and scholarly publication.

The main presentation was delivered by Dr. Zakiah Samori, a lecturer from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, who shared an inspiring 30-minute talk on effective strategies for developing halal research suitable for publication in reputable journals such as Scopus and Web of Science (WoS). This was followed by an engaging 30-minute discussion session, actively participated in by lecturers and academics.

Towards the end of the event, a group photo session was held, and the event was formally closed by the moderator at 11:30 AM.

This event also involved various international partner universities as co-hosts and received sponsorship support from several parties including Aruna, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), and others.

It is hoped that this initiative will foster a spirit of global collaboration and encourage lecturers and academics to improve the quality and global contribution of their research, particularly in the field of Islamic finance and the halal industry.
